ISOC is pleased to announce the publication of Member Briefing no. 13 - Addressing the Digital Divide with IPv6-Enabled Broadband Power Line Communications - written by Mr. Jordi Palet, CEO/CTO of Consulintel, and organizer of the IPv6 Madrid Summit 2003.

Power Line Communications (PLC) allows transmission of data over power lines. It has been around since the 1930's but was never seriously thought of as a medium for communication due to low speed, and low functionality. However new techniques supported by recent technological advances have enabled this medium to become a realistic and practical means of communication.
