The European Union, seeking allies as it tries to develop its own next-generation Internet applications rather than simply accept whatever U.S. interests want, appears to have found an ally in the Asia-Pacific region.

The South Korean Ministry of Information and Communication said Friday it will cooperate with the European Union in developing protocols and applications use IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6.).
