APNIC IPv6 Workshop - Singapore Date: 2 June 2010 - Location: Republic Polytechnic, Singapore, Singapore This workshop was held in Singapore (Singapore) from 2nd June to 4th June 2010. This course provided an understanding and hands-on exposure to IPv6, its structure, operation, and technical features. IPv6 addressing and architecture were discussed in detail, and the issues related to the deployment, transition and coexistence with IPv4 were examined. This course also included hands-on IPv6 configurations on host computers as well as IPv6 network building and configuration scenarios. Participants had the opportunity to work on lab exercises related to deploying IPv6 in dual-stack operational IXP/ISP environments as well as native IPv6 transit. IPv6 policy and address allocations were discussed, as were the issues related to the current status of IPv4 free pool allocation and the deployment status of IPv6. Jordi Palet (Consulintel) on behalf of 6DEPLOY, were in charge of presenting the workshop. 6DEPLOY project was introduced using the available brief description.
