Government acts to IPv6-enable the nation

All government departments are expected to be IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) compliant by 2008, said Energy, Water, and Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Dr Halim Shafie last Friday. “We have established a National IPv6 council under the ministry to provide the vision, mission, and strategic plan for IPv6 implementation in the country,” he said. The Government is also currently working out a budget for the promotion of IPv6 in Malaysia, he added.
